KL International Airport
KL International Airport at Sepang replaced the existing Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah International Airport (formerly known as the Subang International Airport) as the main international gateway to Malaysia. Located on a 10 000 hectare plot of land and 65 kilometers south of the capital city Kuala Lumpur and future air traffic demands.
Following the completion of the masterplan study of the KLIA, construction of the airport began with the award of the earthworks in late 1993. Physical construction of the airport facilities and installation of equipment and systems were completed in early 1998 and the airport opened for commercial operations in June 1998.
