FDC Setem Seniman Agung P.Ramlee

P. Ramlee Artist Supreme

Tan Sri P. Ramlee left us near a half of century ago but the legacy of his greatness in the Malaysian arts scene lingers on freshly in the nation’s consciousness. Born with name Teuku Zakaria bin Teuku Nyak Puteh in Pulau Pinang on 22 March 1929, he grew to become the nation’s ‘Artist Supreme’. This is the multi-talented and much loved P. Ramlee the actor, director, singer, songwriter…and more.

In his early artistic career between the years 1948 and 1955, he acted in 25 films. His foray into film direction met with equal acclaim. After moving to Kuala Lumpur in 1964, his main artistic period took root during which time he acted in and directed a further 18 films and wrote some one thousand songs and musical pieces, many of which are still very popular today. His contributions to films and music prior to his death in 1973 have won many awards and accolades and he has been bestowed two royal titles by the third and ninth Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia.

I’m also buy Special Album from Abg Azri which are includes 1 First Day Cover (FDC) with 4 Commemorative Stamps, 3 Special FDC with Miniature Sheet design 1, Miniature sheet design 2 and a block of 4 Stamps from Souvenir Sheet. Thank you Abang Azri.
